  Buckman Laboratories' Volunteers Spruce Up
SRVS Home for United Way Day of Caring

SRVS was graced with volunteers from Buckman Laoratories' for the United Way Day of Caring. Accompanied by their President and Chairman of this year's United Way campaign, Kathy Buckman Gipson, the volunteers enjoyed creating a Sensory Garden at the home of a SRVS service recipient, JoAnne. Buckman volunteers wanted to revitalize JoAnne's surroundings and that is what they did. JoAnne now has her own Sensory Garden where she can sit and admire all the colors, textures and smells of her new garden. Soon she will have a tree surrounded by gorgeous azealeas and hydrangeas. The volunteers planted many seeds, bulbs and small flowers for JoAnne to take part in the new growth of her garden. JoAnne was also there to participate in making stepping stones for the backyard. JoAnne loves to sit outside and enjoy the outdoors, as well as sit in her swing and watch the kids walk by her house. SRVS greatly appreciates Buckman Laboratories for caring and for creating this home makeover, and giving JoAnne and her staff a beautiful space to enjoy the outdoors. View as PDF

SOS Celebrates Labor Day with a Picnic in the Park

SOS held a fun filled Labor Day Picnic for it’s employees and staff at T.O. Fuller State Park. A great big thanks to the SOS staff that worked hard to put together one of the best picnics SOS/Centrepot/Cadna ever had! It takes an SOS Village to raise an SOS picnic!  Jackie Lott is the Queen of Details!  She arranged all the staff assignments and worked hard before and during the event – we couldn’t have done this without her! A Big Thanks to Joyce Beaty for researching and finding a GREAT picnic site at T.O. Fuller State Park and arranging the catering from Uncle Lou’s Fried Chicken Restaurant! This was the perfect area with accessible bathrooms, electricity, shade, and multiple tables. There was even a basketball court for energetic players. View Full Story as PDF
