Ribbon Cutting

(L-R):  Tennessee Housing Development Agency Executive Director Ted Fellman, Tennessee State Representative Mark White, Shelby Residential and Vocational Services (SRVS) Chairman of the Board John Barzizza, SRVS Executive Director Jeffrie Bruton, United Housing Executive Director Tim Bolding, United Way of the Mid-South Vice-President of Communications Dave Skorupa, United Way of the Mid-South Community Impact Staff Ashley Washington, and Greater Memphis Chamber Business Development Consultant LaVera Tolbert join Bruton for a ribbon cutting at a grand opening of a SRVS home on July 22.  The home was built for people with disabilities through a partnership with THDA and United Housing.  SRVS received more than one million from the Department of Housing and Urban Development's Neighborhood Stabilization Program and the TARP stimulus package to provide a total of 6 single family homes for low-income housing.  The once foreclosed property was renovated for handicap accessibility by United Housing, and will be occupied by service recipients from SRVS, a non-profit United Way partner agency which supports more than 850 people with disabilities in West Tennessee through various programs including a residential living component which provides support services to more than 210 individuals in Shelby County.
