Despite the Memphis heat, SRVS staff, recipients and guests enjoyed a Memphis Redbirds baseball double header on Sunday afternoon, May 31st. The benefit game was SRVS' second annual Community Partner Day the Memphis Redbirds baseball team and AutoZone Park. Nearly 200 tickets were sold with the proceeds going to SRVS. The game began with Gene, a SRVS individual throwing the first pitch, Gene lives in a SRVS group home and works at Worx of Wood where he assembles cabinets. A special video about SRVS played on the big screen as fans enjoyed frozen lemonade and a special appearance from Alexis Grace, a Memphis contestant from the American Idol television show.
