Early Intervention and Developmental Therapy services are provided for children from birth to 3 years of age.
Most often, families of children with disabilities are referred to SRVS Kids through Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS). However, we also receive referrals from doctors, nurses, social workers or other agencies. A family can also contact SRVS Kids directly about program participation.

If your child does qualify for TEIS services, you may be enrolled in a program called Developmental Therapy. Developmental Therapy through SRVS Kids provides family training in the child's natural environment with the parent or guardian. Our team of Early Interventionists provide information to the families about the child's skill levels and how to enhance the child's overall development.
Our Early Interventionists provide families with the following:
- Training and support
- Enhancing child engagement in daily activities
- Identifying and incorporating developmental strategies in daily routines
- Providing functional independence and social interaction
The Early Interventionists will discuss issues important to the family and provide all information and resources they will need to reach goals and milestones. They will also address the IFSP (Individual Family Support Plan) outcomes by building upon the family's strengths and guide them to maximizing learning opportunities for their child within the context of their daily routines.
The program also provides supportive services to families to provide training to help understand and assist in their child’s development. Services provided through TEIS are:
- Free to eligible infants and toddlers and their families
- Voluntary on the part of the family
- Provided by qualified professionals who meet state licensing requirements
SRVS Kids is a participating provider and an Early Intervention Resource Agency (EIRA) for TEIS.
