SRVS is the largest provider of services for individuals with disabilities in West Tennessee, supporting 1,600 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. SRVS raises money through donations, special event fundraisers, grants and United Way contributions to help fund our programs. Donations from individuals, corporations, government and the United Way of the Mid-South are accepted to help enhance the lives of the individuals we serve.
We are funded through the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Tennessee Department of Human Services (Division of Rehabilitation Services), Tennessee Department of Education, Tipton County government, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Federal Government (ICF/MR, Medicaid Waiver), City of Memphis, United Way of the Mid-South, Title V Program Support from Meritan, Private Pay by Individuals, and private contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations, Blue Cross Blue Shield of TN and Amerigroup managed care services and private insurance companies.
SRVS has always set the standard of care for excellence in providing services to people with disabilities. In 2010, SRVS achieved a 3 star ranking from the TN Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities; Ranked at the highest level in Dr. Nancy K. Ray’s Quality Tier of the Federal Court Monitor’s report; Was awarded “Exceptional” performance by the West TN Regional Office’s Quality Management Committee’s Quality Assurance Survey; Scored “Outstanding” by REAC (Real Estate Assessment Center) for management of SRVS’ United States Housing and Urban Development homes for the elderly; Was a member of the inaugural class of the Center for Non-Profit Alliance’s Program for Non-Profit Excellence, and SRVS staff helped develop Home Manager’s Certificate Program for direct support professionals.
In 2014, SRVS was awarded national Person-Centered Excellence Accreditation from The Council on Quality and Leadership, an internationally recognized accreditation leader in the quality of life for people with disabilities. The agency, staff and individualsyearly win local and regional awards of excellence including TNCO's Outstanding Agency, the Arc's Agency of Distinction, ANCOR's Outstanding Direct Support Professional for TN, the national Association for Person Supported in Employment Best Practices Award and the G. Bradley Wanzer Award from the United way of the Mid-South.
In 2015, SRVS won the Arc's of Tennessee Educator of the Year award and the national Association of People Supported Award for Best Practices and Employer Award for Autozone.
